Privacy Policy — Sonic Purity

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Sonic Purity does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

That is the whole policy. The rest of this page explains what the app does with the one sensitive thing it touches, because "we collect nothing" is easy to write and worth substantiating.

The microphone

Two features use the microphone:

In both cases audio is read into memory, converted to a number, and discarded. It is never written to disk, never buffered beyond the few milliseconds needed to compute a level or run a frequency analysis, and never leaves the device. There is no recording feature and no way to play back anything the microphone heard.

You can decline microphone access. The dB Meter and Smart Clean will not work; the rest of the app is unaffected.

What is stored on your device

Sonic Purity keeps a small amount of data locally so features like the 7-day routine and the diagnostic history work:

This lives in the app's own storage on your device. It is included in your device backup if you back your device up, because that is how iOS treats app data. Deleting the app deletes it.

If you export your history (a Pro feature), the file is created on your device and handed straight to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is your choice. Nothing is uploaded.

What the app does not do

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Sonic Purity asks StoreKit whether a valid purchase exists and receives a yes or no. We never see your Apple Account, your payment details, or your name. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

Sonic Purity is rated 4+ and collects nothing from anyone, including children. It complies with COPPA by not collecting data at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the change is noted in the app's Version History.
